Regular deworming of cats is an important link to ensure their health. Especially for stray cats, free-range cats, and cats whose main food is meat, it is necessary to deworm cats in vivo and in vitro.
1. Types of Insecticides
Insecticides for cats are generally divided into in vivo and in vitro. The commonly used insect repellents for cats are broad-spectrum insect repellents such as Miaoba, Bayer and Da Chong, which are specially designed to drive away Toxoplasma gondii. The common insect repellent for cats in vitro is Fuleien. All the above are imported anthelmintics. Of course, domestic broad-spectrum anthelmintics can also be used. It is generally believed that although the price of imported anthelmintics is a little expensive, it is guaranteed to eat imported anthelmintics. After all, anthelmintics are toxic, and tragedies will occur if they are used improperly.
2. The dosage of insect repellent for cats
Insect repellent is toxic, so you must feed it according to the instructions, especially the domestic insect repellent. Before using it, you must weigh the cat and calculate the dosage according to the weight. Sometimes there will be a lot of medicine left. If you feel wasteful, you can feed it to stray cats.
3. Preparation of cats before and after insect repellent Cats should take a bath before carrying out insect repellent in vitro, and then put the insect repellent on the back of the cat's neck where it can't be licked. Don't give the cat a bath until the insect repellent is ineffective. Cats should eat food for 3-4 hours and then fast for 5-6 hours after feeding insect repellent to ensure the efficacy.
note:
1. Most parasites are infected from the mouth. Cats eat parasites infected by unclean food, such as raw meat, mice, insects, birds, etc. Among them, fresh water raw fish, shrimp and crabs are easy to infect cats with clonorchiasis and paragonimiasis. Therefore, ensure the healthy diet of cats, do not feed raw meat, do not let cats go out, keep the house clean, and prevent cats from preying on insects.
2. Preventing mosquito bites in summer can prevent the invasion of blood parasites. Don't let cats in places where there are many outdoor parasites such as grass. If there are mosquitoes at home, you can use insect repellent that is harmless to cats or special for pets.
3. Conduct internal deworming once every three months. Although the broad-spectrum anthelmintics on the market can only kill some intestinal parasites, they are still of great significance. In particular, many parasites are always in the intestine before they become adults and flee to other organs of cats. If they can be killed before they are formed, it will reduce the trouble. It takes about 2~3 months for eggs to hatch and develop.
